Hoses
Can the existing hoses be used with this Sanden conversion or must new
ones be made? I searched for a Sanden 508 on a couple A/C sites, but it seems they want an application. Does anyone know what cars that compressor came on, to make searching for a price a bit easier? Ebay has the 508, but I really don't trust ebay that much. If I can re-use the hoses and I can find a new compressor for around 150.00 you can put me down for a kit when they come out. |

againLaser cutting is much more expensive. For the gen 2 kit, the idler will be deleted, so I am thinking it may be about the same cost to produce., believe me i understand completely about making stuff and trying tho make the venture worth the while, but i still dont understand??
"Laser cutting is much more expensive. For the gen 2 kit, the idler will be deleted, so I am thinking it may be about the same cost to produce." you have now delited the complex little idler bracket and bearing and roller pully, "so I am thinking it may be about the same cost to produce."????? I would not add cad plating there is no reason to build more cost into this product, knowing the target customers-Skinflints- we want as cheap as possible. |
Skinflints? I was thinking of having it Chrome Plated. :D

Next Saturday is the www.good-guys.com car show in Plesanton, Ca. I want to talk to some of the vendors selling AC parts. Lots of Bling at these shows. My Bro in law is an AC guy, so Iam covered in this area. :D Charlie |
Important info to all who have recieved a kit
Before installing your plate, please check it for me.
I just talked to Richard (Delivery Valve), and the bracket he got had an issue. When you get yours, insert the long bolt through the sleeves and screw on the idler eccentric. If the back of the eccentric does not touch the square piece of metal all the way around, then I will need to have you send it back, and I will send you a good one. There can be a small gap, but anything over about a 16th of an inch will be too much, and the idler will loosen over time. It seems my fixture was not holding the square piece correctly before they were welded. A few are fine, and you may have gotten a good one. Please let me know. Thanks, Rich |

Still waiting for my kit to check it, but I've got a question. I think this was discussed in the other thread but I couldn't find it.
Do you have a place that we can get the plug to plug the compressor wiring into? Instead of having to just splice wires together. Thanks! |

The - side (brown wire) is not used for the Sanden, only the + (blue) is needed. |
This is SOOOO cool (forgive the pun)
Now, tell me that I could somehow use a Sanden that comes stock on the Landrover Discovery II.... (3204) Cause I have never seen one fail, and I happen to have 3 of them... http://www.carsteering.com/data/all_...60-700-Map.jpg Of course, I'm guessing no as the bolt pattern is totally different from what I can see. But there are so many of these Discovery II's getting parted out that it would be a cheap source for them... My next question would be if you could figure out a mounting kit that puts the compressor up where the current cruise control is. (removing the cruise control and the mounting block for it) Or maybe on the other side of the engine... This is due to the 617 being retrofitted into other applications (Toyotas, jeeps, my 95 land rover etc...) Could have quite a little market for adapters there. I personally think that putting it where the CC currently is would be the cleanest option. But have not done all the measurements yet. |
How does the total cost come out using a kit plus the sanded?
