Broken Throttle Part Question

On the 1987 300TD I just picked up, there's a part of the throttle that's broken. I thought I might describe it in hopes that someone can identify parts and help me figure out what needs to be done.

The throttle cable attaches to a triangular piece of metal. The "point" of the triangle where the cable attaches, including the guide, appears to be intact. But another point of the triangle is connected to a black piece of plastic which has broken off from something....but I'm having difficulty seeing from what.

What do I need to do to fix this? Trying to decide whether to tackle it myself or have my indie do it.

Thanks.

I assume this is not a common failure. Try the fellows in our parts section to try to get a good usable replacement part. It should be self changeable. It is a somewhat obscure part but our site sponsor has a good record of locating odd new parts as well. You could give them a try.

Our abilities to change parts ourselves does save real money plus on really older cars it makes owning them more practical.

Yes! See on p. 14, right above the number 2? Whatever that part is, that's what's broken.

Black plastic piece that's connected to it… That's what broke. I'll try to post a picture later.
