As to my knowledge...no cabin air cleaners in w126..has anyone
come up with some kind of mod as a solution for this issue...

how hard is to dismantle plastic "things" around wiper mounts bellow

Why do you want a cabin air filter? You would have to put one on the outside air side and the inside air side. Maybe you could get something that fits over the fan housing but I think the possibility of the filter being ingested into the fan outweighs the benefits of the filter. Also, you would be restricting the flow of air by a lot. If you have cats or dogs in the car often, I would go with a foam type filter over the cabin intake and that should be easy to do if you have a screen or mesh backing to the foam material.

Ever taken a look at a 25 year-old a/c evaporator?

I've seen a 126 with a factory cabin air filter.

Gen II, I imagine.

I'm not aware of one.

The filter keeps the evaporator clean, the interior clean, and pollen from entering my nose

I'm a bit asthmatic, dust particles can bring me down easily and the outside air smell can be quite annoying...all of those can be easily filtered or at least masked (considering smell) with proper cabin air filter....

I looked at a 126 gasser, there was an air filter of some sort, I think accessible from under hood near the windshield.

IIRC.

I can't find anything on the epc tho, or anywhere else for that matter.
