Idle Adjustment 1987 300D
Is there a way to adjust the idle on a 1987 300D? I am looking at one in which the idle is a little low. When I press the accelerator a small amount, the engine is perfectly smooth. Thanks!

open hood, look in front of brake master cylinder.
see the round device on the fake firewall? it's numbered from 1 to 7 pull out a little, then rotate to the next higher number. idle will increase.

Most of the ones I've worked on were set on 4 if that helps.
If it doesn't make any changes the ELR is dead which will make the idle drop down to like 500rpms. Used ones are around, not a big deal. Do you have a 190SL Richard? Pop over to the SL forum and post some pics if you do.
