Will E320 wheels fit a W126 300SD

I purchased on CL some 15 in. wheels from an E320 for my W126 300SD but the lug bolts only stick out about 1/2 in. beyond the inside surface of the wheel. I know they stick out further on the Bundt wheel. Any suggestions. With all the rain I have not pulled the Bundt wheel and tried the new ones yet.

no.
they will hit the tie rods on the front, and the fender in the rear.
also the stock lugs will be too short... sorry.

if you purchase a QUALITY 8mm spacer that is hubcentric, you can use the wheels, but you will need MUCH longer lugs...

also, the hub will stick out of the wheel in the front... no way to get it to fit that aside from some REALLY big spacers...

Adding to what vstech said, using spacers moves the weight from the hub to the lug nuts, which can "work", but it's not as safe as having the correct hub centric wheel.

I have a set of hub adapters in storage that will solve that problem. They are spacers that bolt up to the hub, and have conventional studs for the wheels.

They were purpose made in the USA by a specialty manufacturer to adapt newer Mercedes wheels to older models.

PM me if interested.

This is a pic of this concept (not my actual spacers or the company that made mine, just an idea of what I mean):

Thank you all for the information and the offers, but I think I will just resell the incorrect rims and continue looking for the correct ones. What is the name for the rims that came after the Bundt rims on the 300SD in 15"?

The 300sd never came with anything other than bundts.

The later 300sdl came with flat-faced rims, which are usually referred to as such. IIRC they are 15-hole design. You have to make sure to get some that were on a w126, however as the w201 and w124 series came with more or less identical design rims but you will have the same offset problem as you have with the rims you just purchased if you try to install them. Or anything off a w124, w201, w210, etc.

I've added a pic of the style I am talking about, from the 300sdl. The slot openings are a bit different on the w201 and w124 wheels.
