Turbo Rebuild

I'd like to rebuild the turbo on my 94 S350D. Has anyone here done one of those and where is the best place to get all the parts to do it.

There is a few threads on repacing the Bearing and Seals. Some part sources and comments on re-Balancing.
There is also 3 other internet sources with pictures that have info but not entirly accurate. Look up rebuilding a TO3 Garrett Turbo charger (Air Research).
Also find out if you have a Garrett Turbo. Some W123s have KKK Turbochargers.

I have

I rebuilt my garrett on the 617...
it is different than your turbo, but the basics are the same
it was a fun little project.

Thanks, Part of the problem is that I see kits for sale everywhere and have no idea which one to use as the marketing says that they are all the most reliable, highest quality and the best.

There us US made kits and Asian made kits.
There is also 3 types of seals although I think the Mercedes uses the Piston Ring type Seals on both ends but I would not entirely sure.

Thanks guys, I see a search on Youtube turns up many videos on this subject.
I will continue researching this. There are kits galore on Ebay but who knows the real quality. I've been burned on Ebay before.

GPOPSHOP.COM Rebuilt my turbo with the upgraded parts. Located in Arkansas, quick turn around and you will not be disappointed.

Banks Sidewinder gen 2 overhaul - Page 3 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

I rebuilt a TE06H for my truck. I believe it is very similar to the T3, just bigger. See post 38 for a series of step-by-step videos I made.
