Difference between a gasoline and diesel fuel tank?

Are there any major differences between the two? I'm gonna be using a gasser tank to feed a diesel. Any prep work? Adjustments? The original fuel system used an electric fuel pump, will that be an issue with respect to inlet/outlet location in-tank?
