Custom w126 Skid Plate (and possibly others too)...

Hi all,
I've been searching for a skid at the local PNPs for my 300sdl, but alas, I've all but given up. Now that my wife drives it, I really need to get this situated, especially since it had a cracked pan before (prior owner), resulting in a new crate engine from MB. I'd hate to have a repeat of this saga while my wife is driving it on our (oh so lovely) SoCal roads.

I found this place (race skids) that makes custom skids, and I'm actually going to be buying the BMW e28 skid for my 1988 535is ($224 shipped):

http://www.raceskids.com/

In speaking with the owner (Eric), he can fab the skid for the w126; however, he just needs a car so he can take the specs, etc.

He's located in Vancouver, WA so I'm hoping there's a forum member with a w126 that is willing to visit his shop.

I'd be happy to paypal the cost of gas/diesel to go out and see Eric along with throwing in some extra bucks to buy you a drink of your choice while you're waiting for Eric to take the measurements.

Any takers?
(I have his cell & address, so I’ll PM it on request). Thanks!
R Chase
