ALDA removal

Ok so I tried to adjust my ALDA but cant get the little flat had screw to move at all in either direction. So I have made the choice to remove it all together. My dilemma is how do I remove it and what do I do with all the lines and what not. Any one have any pictures of this process?

Thanks!!!
Andrew

27mm bottom nut, 24mm top nut (turns the alda itself). Block off the boost line.

Seems premature. You're complicating your task of diagnosis of your problems. I wouldn't mess with it until you've figured out the cause of your low power.

What if it is the cause of my problems?

Which one is the boost line?

That's possible but not likely. You should pursue more common causes of your problems before investigating the ALDA.

I disagree. I think you should remove the ALDA first before going nuts trying to diagnose the problem further. It's quick to try, and surprisingly... often... is the problem.

There's some evidence his problem is a plugged tank strainer and he hasn't ruled out a linkage problem yet. both are more likely I think.

Seems a simple pressure test of the ALDA and a direct line from the banjo bolt would be all that's necessary to diagnose the ALDA.

To rule out any filter / fuel flow issues, get a vessel of clean diesel and some hoses, run it directly into your IP, and catch returns back to the vessel. Put it under hood go for a drive.

Still a problem? ALDA off, and check your air filter. Drive it.

Still a problem? pinch the return hose off, check linkage real hard. Drive it.

Still a problem? IP or injectors. Inspect injectors, pop test them. Check engine timing. Check compression since you're in the area.

Still a problem? Sorry, IP. Rack adjustment or worse.

#1 already indicated tank strainer problem.
It's easier to check the linkage first rather than removing the Alda. It only requires someone pushing the accelerator and another checking the travel.

The nut on the IP spins, the hex on the ALDA itself does not.
