ALDA removal
Ok so I tried to adjust my ALDA but cant get the little flat had screw to move at all in either direction. So I have made the choice to remove it all together. My dilemma is how do I remove it and what do I do with all the lines and what not. Any one have any pictures of this process?
Thanks!!! Andrew

27mm bottom nut, 24mm top nut (turns the alda itself). Block off the boost line.

Seems premature. You're complicating your task of diagnosis of your problems. I wouldn't mess with it until you've figured out the cause of your low power.

That's possible but not likely. You should pursue more common causes of your problems before investigating the ALDA.

I disagree. I think you should remove the ALDA first before going nuts trying to diagnose the problem further. It's quick to try, and surprisingly... often... is the problem.

The nut on the IP spins, the hex on the ALDA itself does not.

Seems a simple pressure test of the ALDA and a direct line from the banjo bolt would be all that's necessary to diagnose the ALDA.

This is benz Kindergarten 101--You check the boost line first. Its bolted to the back of the intake manifold with a banjo bolt. the bolt/fitting and line get clogged with crap. next get rid of your egr-- and take the intake manifold off and soak in cytric acid or diesel and take to the car wash and spray all the crap out of the inside, The head takes more patience, you need to make homemade clean out tools with wire and thick felt ends-twist the wire around the...felt or find better stuff like paint gun brushes etc

Trying to get the A.L.D.A. and something is holding it in the injection pump. Any ideas how to get the A.L.D.A. removed?

Ok I just used a adjustable wrench and put it on the big nut and then put a flat head screw driver where the bolt for the pressure line goes. Gave it a nice whack with a hammer and it came loose and screwed it off!
If you would like to see if it helps check out my thread in a bit!
