At about 2000 to 3000 rpm the power produced is between 46 and 70 kW => about 62 to 94 HP for the turbo OM617 when it is a NEW / GOOD engine!!!

In modern terms that isn't very much.

How heavy is your car?

3582 Pounds with the automatic.

Oof, that's a big jump...

Using Dr. Sternschnuppe's ratios (thank you!), here are more numbers...

How come your numbers in the PDF don't match up with the 1:1 final drive numbers here =>

What's happened? What have you changed?

The notebook is calculated with the 2.24; the .pdf is calculated with the 2.47.

Also, because of Dr. Sternschnuppe's post, I decided to Google "711.113", and found (among other things) a Benzworld.org thread talking about gear ratios in the 711.110s and 711.113s, and another Benzworld.org thread started by someone wanting to put a 711.113 into his 300TD (though it's not clear if he ever did). Here are the gear ratios listed in the first thread:

711.113:

1st gear / 4,695
2nd gear / 2,401
3rd gear / 1,436
4th gear / 1
5th gear / 0,806
reverse / 4,078

711.110:

Gears / ratio
1st gear / 6,157
2nd gear / 3,148
3rd gear / 1,743
4th gear / 1,278
5th gear / 1
reverse / 5,347

Which is correct? Dr. Sternschnuppe, do you mind elaborating on the source that you got your ratios from?

Dr. Sternschnuppe 02-18-2013 03:57 PM

Looks like I was mistaken about 711.113's ratios.

Gotcha. Thanks for getting the transmission numbers!

...so here are numbers for the 711.113 with the 2.88. I apparently ate some bad seafood and have found time to hack out more numbers while my stomach has been settling down. At this point I'm on the fence, as while doing these calculations I found that I had previously miscalculated the 2.88's RPMs and that they actually look half-way attractive with the 4-speed Also, I want to install an OM617 flywheel (I'm very intense about smooth shifting/accelerator manipulation), and I'm waking up to the reality that I'll have to put up $$$ to buy one. I also think that I would like to actually drive one of these transmissions before throwing time or money at a conversion. That may kill the whole project right there...

Ups, I have recollected that a 61X/60X models are included in one group in EPC. And has recollected some other aspects.
Thus...

N.B. 711.200 have bell housing for the 60X-series engines. And this is a 4-speed transmission.
