W123 oil in my feet
So i ve replaced the oil pressure line going to the gauge in order to fix the leaking oil at my feet, but even with new hose drip drip, does anyone know if the gauge itself leak? is there any other source of oil in that area?

It may be the gauge itself or your vacuum pump may need to be replaced. It could be dripping from the lock cylinder....

bummer. i would wipe it all off and see what part gets damp with oil first...

Pull the brown vacuum line under the hood and inspect it to see if it has oil in it.

Pulled the kick down panel and i see drip drip right below the oil gauge, weird thing is that i have tried swapping the line and it still drips, there is no sign of oil at the threads and both lines andi dont see why its leaking.
Maybe its leaking inside the gauge? anyone |

the bellows inside the oil pressure gauge have failed. you need a new gauge.
very common.

My oil pressure failed and it seeped a lot of oil into the mat, so much that even i cleaned the floor with some degreaser and dried it i have more and more coming out from under floor boards, it is really annoying.
Any tips on this oil spillage control? thanks ps it justy seems like ill neatly clean up and it keeps coming out from underneath. thanks.Vaccum pump is fine, no oil at shutoff whatsoever and i did replace leaky oil presure gauge so oil isnt coming from there. |

Huge problem, oil soaked driver - pad carpet
So after replacing my leaky fuel pressure gauge I been noticing oil and more oil staining my shoes and clothes.
But the oil is not coming from above, but from the anti noise barrier underneath my carpets!!! I must have 1/2 a gallon of dirty diesel oil under there, I mean material is destroyed, I don't know what to do?? Overwhelmed cleaning this. Thanks, any help appreciated Last edited by whunter; 05-19-2013 at 09:36 PM. Reason: spelling |

Answer
FYI: The driver carpet and foam can hold roughly one US quart, been there - done that = nasty clean up...
The only suggestion I have is to soak it in a pan of: * Shout. * Dawn dish soap. * Palmolive dish soap. * Tide laundry detergent. In the driveway; after soaking: #1. Put an even 3/4 inch layer of oil dry on the driveway. #2. Put a towel or heavy cloth (you don't care about) over the oil dry. #3. Lay the soaked floor mat on the towel. #4. Put a towel or heavy cloth (you don't care about) over the floor mat. #5. I placed two layers of half inch plywood over the pile. #6. Because it was handy, I parked the driver front wheel of a 300SD on the pile for several hours. #7. Repeat as needed. ................................After you have the worst of the oil removed, steam cleaning may get the remainder out. If the foam backing is beyond salvage, scrub it off, and have your local upholstery shop make a new anti noise foam backing. I have had good luck coating all sides of the new foam backing with the spray rubber undercoating, then glue it to the carpet. or Take it to a carpet cleaning company. If the carpet is coming apart, you need to find a good used one or order a new front set. With a year, model, VIN# I can generally get the color code for correct part number. .
