Wife said SD wouldn't shut off which led to

vacuum pump replacement because I had previously repaired the other vacuum leaks. On connecting gauge directly to vac pump, almost no vacuum with only gauge plumbed in.

Then I decided to change oil cooler lines. Which led to motor mounts and engine shock mounts. Shock mounts are too expensive for my blood and the other SD will need them also so I ordered some Flexane (still en-route) to try. It will be here next week.

Then I decided to fix some leaks including both oil and manifold leaks and ended up with the attached pics. The old mount's rubber looked good until I had the new to compare and see how collapsed the old one is.

I wish the car had simply shut off.

The air filter drain tube mounting point is broken. Does anyone have a source for a new tube or pic of how it is supposed to be mounted or a fix for the mounting bracket? The correct o-rings are easy to find but not the tube. I'll call Pelican later but didn't see it.

dealer

I would not waste your time finding it anywhere else. Its likely not that much once you factor your time in. Otherwise a boneyard would be the next place, but once again time is the factor. Whats it worth. How long does it take to remove when its in a car. Also sometimes MB indy shops will have a line on dealer parts. Im about to get that part as well. I won't bother anywhere but the dealer. Its probably like 50$. WITH MB CLUB.

I did some checking. There is a bracket that looks generic. OE PN 6171800322 $6.50. O-rings are available also.

The actual line is called an oil line from muffler filter to oil pan and is $120 which is too much. PN is 6171800322. I haven't seen a pic of the correct place to bolt it.

I Googled the part# and not too much comes up, but one MB Dealer in Atlanta has this drawing, might help you. they charge full price on everything they sell.

TURBO-ENGINE AIR CLEANER. Fits: Mercedes | Mercedes-Benz of South Atlanta

Our dealer about 35 miles south of us sells way cheaper if you go through their wholesale site. It is Stahl Motors and the oldest dealer in the country.

Mercedes Benz LINEOIL - 6171800322

Amazing the price difference between these dealers.

For that price, I would have no problem pulling the part off in the yards.

I found the same pic. It looks like I just need new o-rings and the clamp (176 in the drawing. I stopped by Harbor Freight and bought a box of similar metal clamps with rubber liners for ~ $8.

I had gone to HF for other stuff so didn't measure the line but will do a trial fit tomorrow. There are other uses for the clamps. I'll buy OE in case the HF clamps don't Fit. Will report back.

I need to research the block heater. Mine has the plug cut off and now is the time to test &/or replace it. DieselGiant says replacing can be problematic and sells one that installs in the radiator hose.I don't know if that is necessary or a good rig or not.
