Mercedes 1977 300D Caliper rebuild problems

I'm working on rebuilding the calipers, I got the pistons out of the rear caliper, cleaned it out, and got the O ring in. I can't figure out how to get the boot on around the piston and caliper. I got FAG brand rebuild kit, and the dust boot is very rigid, like it has a wire frame. The one that I took off seemed to be flexible. I can't figure out how to get it on since it's such a tight fit. Anyone go through this problem before?

There is a special tool for it, but otherwise you just need to press it on the piston and calipher. Is the piston deep enough into the calipher? Maybe you can use a bit of brake calipher grease.

It would be nice to know if you have ATE or Girling Calipers as how you deal with the Heat Shields is different.
