modulator cap

so i put the little black cap on my transmission modulator. it was missing.
i am deff holding vacuum on the black vac line going directly to the transmission now. when i did my mityvac on it before it would drop in secs.
i am still getting weird flaring. im think the modulator it self is not set to the proper pressure. does anyone on the forum make the gauge kit to test this.

1982 300d 150k on it.

Flaring could be too much vacuum. Is your VCV adjusted for the new vacuum levels at the modulator? Did you ever adjust the modulator itself?
