No power to various places, 1987 190d

So, I had a friend replace the ignition on my 190d and also rewire the radio. I believe that somewhere during the radio rewiring, the power windows, cigarette lighter, windshield wipers and sunroof lost all power. The " ice cube" relay and fuses are good. Im out there now looking behind the radio for anything loose, but Im pretty uninformed when it comes to this kind of thing. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Ben R.

You might want to look in the ignition switch area. I cannot think of any wiring related to the radio that would cause all of your electrical failures. Was the replacement ignition switch new or used?

Also, tested the switches to the sunroof and windows and they are getting power.

Try to wiggle the key back and forth a little and see what happens.

Cool. Got the under-panel off and looking for anything funny - about to try and wiggle the key.

I should mention that the ignition is a bit hard to turn, as if it still needs to get broken in. Its better now, but it took some force to twist the key initially. I replaced it because the spring-back was not working, and that problem seems to have been solved.

It does seem like something in the ignition.....its pretty dark and cold outside now so we will finish pulling things apart tomorrow and if worst comes to worst, bypassing the ignition with a toggle switch assemble to control the windows.

In post #3 you say the sunroof and window switches are getting power. That eliminates the ignition switch as the problem. I don't have diagrams for the 190's but I would say that there is a plug left disconnected or a ground wire was cut or disconnected. I'm not familiar with the 190 but maybe someone else can indicate where most of the grounds are located. On my 126 they are behind the instrument panel.

OK, Ill be sure to check those while I have the car apart. Any chance I am missing something with the fuses? They all look good. I had 2 spare used "ice cube" relays as well and neither seems to do anything.
