ACC II: locked up blower motor, something is now blown
Been troubleshooting the ACC II in my 1980 TD.
I tested a second blower motor today, just to rule out worn brushes on the installed one. I did not install the second blower motor, just held it by hand. And paid attention. Hours later I wanted to check something else quickly so I did it again... not paying full attention. I did not have it completely off the carpet. It looped in stray carpet fiber and next thing, it was jammed under full power (on defrost). It took me a few seconds to get to the key to kill the power. Now I have no power to blower motor. I did find this had blown the 2A fuse under the hood, which I have replaced. The blower motor fuse in the main fusebox looked ok but I changed it anyway. Also exchanged in a known good spare amp. And switched in spare relays where the 2A fuse sits. No difference. Two things I cannot readily check: 1 - flat-prong relay behind the glove compartment. I don't have a spare. 2 - climate control panel. Any bets on my having killed one or both of those? Thx
