1997 E300D Exhaust

Question: Its time to change out the muffler. The import parts store has in stock the unit for the 1998 E300TD, but they have no information on the 1997 E300D to match up this part.

Does anyone know if the unit for the 1998 E300TD will fit the 1997 E300D?
