Windshiels
Safelite Auto Glass offers two choices for replacement windshields with rain sensors. Either a windshield rain sensor blue tint/gray shade or windshield rain sensor green tint/gray shade.
I can't clearly tell which I have, the blue tint/gray is about $70 more. Any definitive way to tell on a 1999 E300

The blue tint is part of the "elegance" package which is what most W210s are here. If your steering wheel is the same color as your seats you have the elegance package.

Or put a piece of white paper in the inside of glass and have a look. ( maybe try the outside too. ) Have a few people look at it, very light blue / green can be difficult to decide. Try looking at it at a distance, also at a shallow angle to get more "thickness" of the glass.
If viewed in sun light ( yellow ) a blue tint may look green. ( Think dash lights that have blue shields but look green when on. ) Try white fluorescent light too. Lastly, have a look at the glass etching, it might list the color or some other information. All auto glass has an etching so check other windows as well. |
