Early versus late blower motor resistor for w123 (ACC 2 vs ACC 3) - different?
Hi, I apparently blew my blower motor resistor on my 1980 300td over the weekend. On the early w123s with ACC 2 it is located near the wiper motor, under the cowl panel.
I have not had time to pull the cowl cover and will not, for another day or two. By any chance, can anyone tell me if the unit on my car is the same as later cars, just in a different spot? Or is it physically different? I cannot find info, pics or part numbers online for my car, only for the later cars with ACC 3 and for 240d (ACC 1). Early cars are scarce here now, even in traditional yards, so if I can use later one I will be much further ahead. EDIT: Hmmm, won't let me delete this. I eventually dug up a part number in the Russian EPC, which I was able to feed to the Atlanta dealer website and get an answer. Oddly, according to the dealer parts listing, all years of wagon use the 'old' version, but sedans changed in 1982 to the one on the fender. The 240d models used a similar one but it isn't the same (four pin plug instead of six).
