List of potential color combinations? 930 silverblue over 157 henna red?

Is there a list anywhere that denotes the possible exterior/interior options? I ask because I have a '83 300d that I love, probably my most driven one of the bunch. It is 930 Silverblue metallic over Blue MB-tex. Interior is in excellent shape minus the dashboard.

But I have a wrecked '83 240d that is pastel beige over 157 Henna Red MB-tex.

Very tempted to swap the henna red interior into my 300d- but I'd love to see a picture of those two colors combined first.

Trying to visualize it- part of me says it would be beautiful and part says no.

I assume the dash in your 1983 300D is blue also. My opinion is the henna red interior in a silver blue metallic car is a definite clash of colors.

Correct. If I did the swap I would have to swap the black dash in from the 240.

I'm probably somewhat "off" because my "Silverblue" isn't very silberblue anymore. It's pretty faded. So in my head it doesn't seem like a bad combo but who knows.

Have a look at this vid from Polyvance be sure to turn the volume down at the start of the vid. . Yes I know, odd name, they used to be called USC. I have their airless plastic welder kit and it works great on the 2 bumpers I've fixed.

Your blue dash (hopefully it has no cracks) can be successfully dyed black. A company named Color Plus in Milford, PA, sells a perfect water based dye to go from black to blue or vice versa. Easy to apply and very durable. Color Plus has a website. The dyes are a perfect match to Mercedes colors.

That color combo might look very dramatic. Google "Jim Rathman's winning Indy car" to look at a lovely car with blue paint and red leather.

interesting combination for sure.

Yeah my dash is pretty obliterated. Also have a nasty spot where all the vinyl is missing around the key area. Need to figure out a good way to patch that because it cut my hand all the time

Yes- and thank you lots as I did not know about that- but given other things that need to be done to my car(s) right now that's a little too time consuming, simply due to me having to pull the dash.

I will say, now that I think of it, I could maybe patch that one spot by the ignition without the dash out and just fix the massive cracks on top later.

If you decide to pull the dash send me a PM with your email address and I will be glad to send you written instructions on the removal and installation of a W123 dash.

here you go. This is a picture of a model. The colors are weak compared to the real car.

This BMW E9 has a similar colorway to what you're looking at.

I actually think I like it... Especially since henna is a tad bit darker
