ABS warn light - the downsides

hi guys

a year back my abs light went on during the drive,so I cleaned sensors
abs light was fine for some time, now it appears again after 10 sec of driving
I cleaned sensors again but no help, stubborn light is on again

I know I have to look around for JY sensors but in meantime what is the
downside of driving like this...?

thanks

ChO

Your ABS probably isn't going to work. Not a problem as long as you know how to threshold brake.

Agreed with the above post. Did you check the wires running from the sensor up to the connector. On both front wheels on my 87 I had to replace virtually the entire length of wire b/c it had frayed from all the years of turning. Just a thought to check before you spend money. Mine had obvious kinks I could see right through the wire casing.

my OVP is overridden since I got a car...so no OVP acctually
how one engage ABS...brake hard and forceful to see if the brakes are blocked after...hot wheels after ride/much breaking?

No OVP??? Had battery problems or jump starts or anything like that? Pretty bad idea to override the OVP and this is from doctorhacksalot.

Easiest way to engage ABS is to brake on a gravel/dirt road. Doing it on pagement is likely to flat spot the tires.

Maybe you're used to calling it something else. If european driver education is as good as I've heard you have to be familiar with the technique.

now I get it,..no we dont have some special name for it..it is just
considered as normal proper usage of brakes

my wife has a name for opposite of threshold braking..the short version is like
"dont push it as an ox you son of the...&*^&$$%^#$#%^(*()*#&%%."

Threshold braking is knowing how to brake at the maximum limit without locking up the wheels, without using or the aid of ABS.
