W126 heater core replacement.
What I'm I looking at time wise to replace it. Is it worth it to try k-seal or am I asking for bigger problems. I know I can replace it. But it's getting cold and the heater core just went out.

The leak was directly below fire wall behind the starter and on to the exhaust. When the car over heated the inside the cab filled with smoke.

You'll need a day or three to complete the job. Do it right and avoid the k-seal. Band-aids like can cause trouble for the rest of your cooling system.

Turns out that I was wrong. The heater control vavle for the window heater broke. This caused a leak right next to the air vint for the blower motor.
