CAUTION: driving a 5 speed without a cupholder...

imagine this full to the top with ice, and tea...

now imagine being cut off by a semi... and slamming the clutch and brake at the same time...

now imagine the cup no longer being full... and your lap being full...

At least it was ICED tea instead of SCALDING coffee!

I've only owned one automatic my entire life. Cupholders = good.

Never drink and drive.

Seriously, the only beverages I'll have in the car are in a bottle with a screw on cap, and then only on long trips. I've been driving for about 20 years and I've never had a car with proper cup holders.

You're intentionally pointing out that you're a youngster?

There is a strict no food or drink policy in place within my vehicle. The car was designed without cup holders because nobody should be drinking or eating in the car. Passengers either chug and scarf, or toss it in the garbage before getting in. I will not allow the amount of WORK it took to get the carpets clean, to be wasted by a spilled cup of Coke...

Drinking and driving was illegal in Germany at the time. Now you know why.

I often drive mornings with a mug of coffee. Yup, a mug. And a 1/2 full french press for the reserve. Not much traffic in town. Population +- 900! Granted it's an auto shift.

One time I left a mug (empty) on the roof and drove about 2 miles. I didn't realize until I got out of the car. I looked up and said "woops". Sometimes it pays to drive like Grandpa!
