Rear Pads Hanging up?
Hello,
My car is a 1982 300SD. 182K with new rear rotors and pads on rear at 175K. When driving at say over 30 MPH and when I make a long sweeping right turn I hear what sounds like a rubbing noise, groining sound, coming from the rear of the car that in in sync with the rotation of the wheel. You can barely hear it but it is there. It is not alarming at all more of an annoyance. After coming out of the turn, and straightening up the steering wheel, the noise goes away. It only does it when making right turns at speeds over say 30 MPH. When the noise is not present I hear no unusual bearing noise. My question is 1.could I have a pending rear bearing failure that is allowing some movement back there and after 182K should rear wheel bearing be replaced? 2.I use an indy for repairs is it difficult to replace rear bearings? 3. could it just be a pad hanging up that needs cleaning Thanks
