Opps, what did i Do?

Well folks,

I did it I bit the bullet and went and bought this 99 e300 with 135K. I have been looking into a new to me diesel since my Hyundai died, from early 90s to this model/yr. I missed out on a few gems-one which stands out was a 96 e300 with only 42K miles on it, like it came out of the show room man that was a really nice example- and tried all the others around me. If anything I came to really appreciate the 98-99 e300s and the 91-93 300TDs, didn't care too much for the NA models, personal preference.

Anyway, coming to learn more about this beauty and find its a real treat to drive and no complaints..yet. Dealer serviced up until 8/14, cant imagine the PO could do too much damage in that time. There is rust, but a good portion of it had been treated and painted over(somewhat questioning the quality of that) with some left overs at the front of the rocker panels. Spring perches look rust free(will get them checked out by my indy or MB), newer front shocks(Bsides), tie rod and upper CA and associated bushings(Dside). All the windows, sunroof and HVAC work as they should. Tried to get the codes off the HVAC but only got FF which I understand means no errors(or it didnt do it right)

Only thing I've done so far is change the air filter, it really needed it, and replace a screw on the Pside door check. Oil change and fuel filter(s) in the near future, so I know when they were done. Went to take off the front wheels to check things out and man they must have been torqued by a gorilla. Overall, really pleased with the purchase.

See what this forum has done to me, now I got two 300TDs!

You won't regret it. I bought TWO of these in the last year. Very, very pleased.

Since you're in the Philly area, go out to Red Lion and get it chip tuned by Rocketchip. You'll like it even more!

Heh... You don't have ANY TD's... A TD is a wagon with a Diesel engine.

Heh, better I have TDs(turbo diesels) than the other way around Ive used the manual on the W124zone(gxsr?) website for my 87 and wanted to know which one people use for the 99 210? The russian site is rarely viewable for me and have not looked hard into the MB site. Any suggestions?

I've been wondering the same thing....I'm pretty sure you need to sign up for WIS if you want that kind of info.
