82 300SD Rear Door Lock

My right rear door has been sluggish, sometime not working at all and I pulled it and it leaks bad, so I have ordered one to replace it.

Recently when it has been sluggish, I reinstalled the bad one, the trunk lock and gas lock started messing up, "not unlocking". My new one is getting shipped to me. They all got out of sync. and got crazy.

I'm hoping that when I replace the RR door lock actuator the other Gremlins will go away.

Think they will GO AWAY or am in store for more actuator problems?

Is there an emergency release in trunk for fuel door? I looked and did not see one.

They have been fine for 5-7 years since I purchased the car and manual trunk lock works peachy with key, it has when I have used key in trunk.

I was told the way to check the vacuum pump was to pull the hose off it and let is start and put finger across the sucking port and if it shuts off it is OK. I did that test and it shuts off with an internal vacuum shut off switch.

Thanks

Your problem may very well go away when you replace the actuator. How much did you pay for it? I paid about $25 some 5 yrs ago. Was surprised how cheap it was.

I picked up 2 for $12 each used and tested with no leaks but have not gotten yet off of Ebay w/ free shipping. I could hear old one leak so I can test new used ones when I receive. Brand new ones run $50 I think each. I can live with used good parts just hope what is get is good. I've gotten other used parts that worked fine. Time will tell.
