300D Turbo - Relocate boost switchover valve?

Mercedes for some reason, located the boost overpressure valve behind the brake booster

I have owned car for a long time and for second time found boost pressure to ALDA was low - for same reason. One of the rubber connector hoses to the valve had split.

Problem with location, is that besides difficult to get at, the electrical connector is in front of the boost line from manifold. Difficult to inspect without removing connector and perhaps valve itself. That is what I did and of course dropped one of the small mounting screws

Thought about eliminating the valve. But, I am only getting 8psi of boost on bypass, so thinking about adjusting waste gate. I wouldn't do that before re-installing the valve.

Now thinking about a better location for the valve. Looks like there is a space just to right and above oil filter on the firewall. May need a spacer to bring valve out a bit because firewall is not flat. Would be easier if valve was mounted horizontal rather than with vent facing upwards.

Anyone done the re-location?
