So I've turned to the dark side

Recently I have had the pleasure of aquiring a new to me vehicle, couldnt pass it up too nice.
For the past 5 years Ive been driving my 85 300 D and prefer diesel, sure its got a few bumps and bruises, but its a diesel!!
A mechanic friend of mine had this beautiful 1995 E320
All the major repairs done already, by the dealer no less, just couldnt pass it up.
Thank you all for the fabulous help and input keeping my
300D on the road, BTW it still runs and recently got new axles and brakes!! Still deciding what to do with it
So now I have a gasser with 200 someodd horsepower and
she hauls butt! A/C and heat work, seats are awesome paint and interior are beautiful..just happy happy happy!!!!

Congrats on the new ride.
Nice looking car.

We`ll still love you even if you are in the dark. LOL

If you get lonesome for the Diesel sound, make a recording and push play.

Very nice. I love my W124's and I don't think I could ever DD a W123 again after driving the new cars for a few years now.

Sometimes you run across a well cared for Mercedes-Benz. A clean trunk may be a good sign. My old '99 W210's spare has never left it's compartment - still after 16-years.

How's the engine compartment look?

Thanks for the nice compliments.
I'll get some engine compartment Picts posted.
For a 20 yr old car the engine bay looks pretty good, minor
Seepage from low side power steering hose, that's about it
Needs detailing and a bit of dusting, and a few leaves removed but overall just fabulous!!

We had some nice weather here today so I cleaned all the
Door jambs, chrome sill plates, filler door, trunk seal and wheels. Already ordered my spare key!!

And Charlie, I found a few goodies in the junk yard today!!
Perfect rearview mirror glass and 2 perfect visors in the correct color, one for spare and one replacement.

Trying to figure out how to get the front bumper off the jy car, I managed to get the side brackets loose, left and right
But for the life of me can't figure what else is holding that thing on. Found one center bolt, got that removed but its still solid stuck on. I thought there were only 6 bolts holding the bumper on...ideas?

The junkyard car is a 94 wagon looks like a 320 has same glass headlights as my 95 e320

If any of you come across a paper owners manual in good shape let me know I have plenty of 123 parts to trade

Thanks for the engine compartment pics. With the exception of the dustiness, yours looks almost as good as my '99's does.

What're your miles on the car? Sorry, if I missed that factoid.....

I'd take a second look at the service records because no self respecting MB dealer pours green coolant. Otherwise, nice Special Edition - even if all that means is leather, burl wood, different wheels and stainless steel door sills.
