Help! Sunroof draining in my SD . ( pics)

Just got this 300SD last week with wet rear passenger seat carpeting..

So far I have resealed the rear windshield and plugged 2 small leaks.
I checked and tightened the rear pass door weather stripping and it is as tight all around as it can be.

So I have my son helping with the hose while I am inside the rear seat. I have the seats removed and find water running down the side trim panel that has the reading light in it. pics below.

So I then removed the rear pad behind the seats with the rear speakers, and the side panel.

I gently run the hose water just over my fully closed sunroof so it does not go down the sides of the car (over the windows and doors) and water is coming into the rear cabin down the side from where the dark stain is in my picture below.

I am assuming this is a punctured sunroof drain tube, or if I am lucky a stuffed sunroof drain that is overflowing into the pan.

There are plenty of searches to find Benz's with leaking sunroofs but anyone have the steps I need to use to access the sunroof drain tubes up in the headliner ? I do not want to just start pulling things down w/o doing it the right way.

Any other knowledgeable suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Austin

Blow out the drains with compressed air. The drains may be disconnected. There are 4 at the corners of the sun roof. I have the headliner out because it filled up like a water balloon. I don't know how little you can remove to access the drains. You can access from under the car. See if the information is in the FSM.

I guess I can try the compressed air first. I tried poking a long flexible wire up that hole but it only got like 4 feet before it got jammed . I once took apart and reassembled my 85 300D sunroof completely with a Kent Bergsma sunroof repair kit and guide. I do not have the guide any more, and I do not ever want to do that job again.

I am thinking that my rear passenger side drain tube may have disconnected from the elbow there. Or it may have a hole in it . So if I blow it out from underneath the car up the tube there , and there's a break or hole, the air may just blow whatever loose 34 yr old dried up stuff is up there all over.....

I figure I have to remove the headliner to be able to see the drain tube and elbow joint to know what is going on.

Also I know there are 4 drain holes up in the sunroof , one in each corner.
I cleared out the 2 front ones, but cannot locate the 2 rear ones. They are pretty tricky even if you know exactly where they are supposed to be. You cannot see them like the fronts.

So I may need to know how to remove the HEADLINER properly. I have to fix this soon since I am in S Florida and real soon we get heavy rains every day.

Is it possible to remove just the right rear corner of the headliner enough to see the drain tube and elbow it connect in to??
