last night when i shut the car off and took the key out of the ignition the battery light came on. i disconnected the batt cable because i figured it would drain overnight. this morning i took a look at the alternator and this cable was disconnected. i reconnected it but the light still stays on with the ignition off. if i pull the large alt plug the light goes off. with everything hooked up the glow plugs do not come on. but, it looks like once the car is started it still charges ok.
could this wire being disconnected for a period of time cause some kind of internal fault in the alternator?
