1987 300D front suspension problems
Does anyone have a good (and relatively easy?) method of changing ball joints in the lower control arm for a 1987 300D?
Thank you. |

Visa card handed to the shop?
The joint is very close in size to the knuckle of the control arm... No easy way to press it out.

Update to the '94-up non-replaceable style (93 in coupe), and replace the entire a-arm. This also gives you space for bigger brakes, ...

The balljoints are easy to replace if you have the tool to do it... I just pulled the strut and the whole brake assembly out of the way and presses them out and pressed the new ones in.
The tool I used looks like this: ![]()
