Replacement transmission gear for W124 mono wiper

I pulled the wiper assembly out of my '95 E300 and the half-moon wiper gear in the tranmission area appears to be damaged which is why the wiper was acting erratic.

Looks like I can buy a new one for $100 - seems like a lot for a piece of plastic. Not crazy about getting one from the pick-n-pull - unknown condition of gear.

Any other options?
