New to me 2006 CDI

After 6 years, 3 transmission drain and refills, 2 differential drain and refills, one brake flush, 5 rad drain and fills and 15 glow plugs and 105,000 more miles for a total of 236,000 on the 99 E300 I have a 2006 CDI.

The good news is 56,000 miles from a Toyota dealership for $9,000.

The slight down side is it is 2 time zones and 2,400 miles away, no records or owner’s manuals.

The bigger down side it will be month end before I am out of the cast on my right foot and able to pick it up.

I am preparing my preventative maintenance parts list.

That's a long ass drive to get that car. I've had one. They are nice but not that nice. And it will break down 3 times on the drive home.

I've bought 2 CDI's so far...

The first one I picked up and drove 1,600 miles back home and the second one I drove 2,400 miles from the point of sale back home. Total breakdowns or issues of any kind were exactly zero for both cars on every mile of the trips back.

These cars are awesome and they are more than nice enough to justify traveling if you find the right car at the right price. You'll find they are amazing long-distance cruisers with 40+ MPG potential, torque that will effortlessly take you up any hill you encounter and 850 mile range.

Congrats on your new purchase - I'm confident you'll soon be joining the ranks of highly satisfied CDI's owners here at Peachparts.

That's an excellent price for one with only 56k miles!

I've found that on these cars a Carfax will often give you a pretty good sense of the maintenance history....since often the owners had them serviced at the dealer.

Great price on a low mileage CDI. As others have stated check your VIN on carfax, it might list the MB dealers that have serviced the vehicle. How close is the nearest MB dealership? Or if you can find an indy nearby, have the Toyota dealer drop your car off for them to inspect and service if needed.

Congrats. I love my 06 E320 CDI.

All this CDI talk I've been seeing recently on the boards is making me REALLY want to crack and buy a nice 05-06. They aren't too expensive in So Cal. or the Phoenix area, definitely gonna keep my eye out. Of course I can't part with my beloved E300 or CLK either, but another Benz in the stable never hurt anybody.

damn these diesels are addicting.....

Another (more than) satisfied 05 CDI owner here. Drove it 900 miles home from the MB dealer I bought it from. Only trouble so far in about 11 months of possession has been the front wheel bearings (but that's my own fault, see 05 CDI wheel bearing question), and the passenger seatbelt chime that thinks the seat is occupied even when vacant.

2,400 miles is a long way, but if the Carfax checks out I don't doubt the CDI will make it.

I was waiting for the duck to drop down from the ceiling when I read ^^^^ that! WOW!

That's a A FIND @ that price!

IF you can get VMI AND a Carfax report on it, you're waay ahead of the information curve on it.

Do you have any idea of it's condition??
