17 years for me in a couple months. Sharing knowledge is what makes this place work.

I'm amazed this little pictorial of mine has had over 29K views during the past 16 years! Here's my payback! Diesel Primer Pump Replacement
I've gotten so much more from all the wonderful contributors.

Those two were pretty vehement arguers. I got along ok with FI until I posted that I got 40 mpg with my 300 engined 240 with the 307 diff and five speed od transmission.

The bonehead and I argued a lot but never got hateful. He went off and started a new forum which I belonged to for a while...cannot remember its name.

Sept 06. Getting my original 85SD painted. Should be driving in a couple of months.

Staying out of OD eliminates fights with people that I can't stand politically but otherwise like.

Schuman Automotive? It semi recently (like in the last year or so) came back online, naturally its a ghost town since google can't crawl it (so no one knows its there) and because they kicked everyone out before after they started to require a paid subscription....
Its free now...

Been here 13 years...............and this forum has and had some of the sharpest mechanics you will find anywhere. Great innovators and instructors, always willing to help. Some of the old timers are no longer on the board, and with the newer diesels there seems to be more electronics to fix than mechanical issues. Still read the forum every day!!!

Smile Relative Newb

November 2005 .

I too am in awe of all the excellent technical help I have received since joining .

I still have my very first Mercedes Diesel, 1982 240D stripper and I still love it and driving it .

Plus of course, the fantastic FREE HISTORY LESSONS from many here .

And, I can even ask for help on my other jalopies and get useful information .

Gotta love this place .

Been here a long time even though I don't post much these days. Still come here for info on my 240D which I've had for 15 years now but has been in the family since new.
