1983 300TD wagon Vacuum Issue

On my 1983 300TD wagon, I had a problem with my vacuum door locks that was the result of a broken/leaky pastic vacuum line that passes through the door jamb (driver's front door). I repaired this vacuum leak and the door locks worked great for a few days. Now out driving I attempt to turn the engine off (I did turn it off using the STOP lever on the engine. Also none of the door locks would work and when I turn on the climate control I get only heat, whereas before I had great cool air through all 4 vents.

I re-checked my repair on the previously repaired plastic vacuum line and all is OK and I am getting 22" of vacuum from the vacuum pump. Power brakes work fine, transmission works fine. I tested the vacuum shut off valve with a might vac and it works fine. The shut off valve on the ignition switch is about 1 year old and is MBZ. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.
