87 300TDT Rear Diff leaking
Good Day All!
I parked my car last night and came out to a puddle under the rear diff this morning. It appears to be located more on the passenger side. If I look, every once in a while, I see a drip of oil. It does not really smell. I changed the rear diff fluids about 1.5 years ago. Any ideas on what is leaking? Could it be the seals between the axle and the rear diff? If so, anyone have a part name/number? Lastly, anyone have a procedure? Thank You All!!! glenn

Have you driven through any deep water lately? There is a vent on top of the differential on the passenger side. If water got in, the oil would rise to the top and if frothed up after a drive may have seeped out up to when you stopped.
Just guessing here.

Solved, I think. Will know more tomorrow...
Thank You for the idea Pwogaman! Although I live in Vegas, we have had a bunch of rain recently. Whenever I have my kids in the car, I drive through every puddle I can find. They love seeing the water splash everywhere. :-)
Alas, I got under my car this eve. It appears as though the line going to the SLS decided to leak. Have not had a problem with leaks since I change the accumulators last summer. I tightened the hex bolt about 3 clicks on the ratchet. Hopefully this has it fixed. Thank You Again for Your Ideas! glenn
