Seat/Jumpbox Q:
Can a jumpbox be used to power a an 87 SDL to move the seats back and forth to get to the seat bolts for removal?

Should be able to, did it recently on a W124 by jumpering directly at the back of the seat switch. If you do it that way tape/insulate the battery cables if they're unsecured.
Good luck!!!

My newer jump box is smart enough to realize when it's connected to a battery and won't provide power unless it detects voltage from the car battery. I have one of those small 12v aux batteries from a w211 that I keep around for powering accessories in otherwise dead cars.

I paid about 70 bucks at HF for this jumpbox. It's so much easier to use than hauling a car battery around. When I was younger even a marine battery wasn't so difficult to manage but now even the smallest car battery beats me up.
