Well my master cylinder went south on my sd so its time to replace it. My question is for those that have done it is it pretty strait forward or are there things I need to look out for? BTW I have changed many master cylinders just not on a Mercedes.
Thanks!

I did this job on my 300 TDT and I'd guess it's the same on your SD. The job is very straightforward and should be much like your other master cylinder jobs. The one difference is that you should also replace the two black rubber grommets where the resevoir attaches to the master cylinder. Some new master cylinders may already have new grommets on them but the one I installed didn't. I used the old grommets and had leaks as a result. The new ones are cheap so you should definitely replace them. Have fun!

Hi the master cylinder replacement went good, I just wanted to let anyone who is about to do this theirself know that there is a rubber O ring on the back of the master cylinder that seals it to the power brake booster and without this it leaks and the power brakes don't work nor does the car shut down. I know this because mine fell off while putting on the master cylinder
