w115 240d heater core access

Hello I am looking for a guide to accessing the heater core on a w115 240d. I know it is said that the dash must be removed, but I swear I have seen a write up where the core was accessed by removing the floor vents, removing the center counsel but not the dash. If anyone has any info on accessing the 240d heater core I would gladly appreciate it. I am finding coolant in the backseat under the floor mats. It appears to be clear antifreeze. I would like to attempt to seal the heater core if possible. If I cannot find any leaks up to the firewall then my problem is probably my heater core? or perhaps the seal on top of the heater core where the coolant flows in and out? If anyone can offer any advice that would be great! Thanks

-Remove grille in front of windshield, and disconnect electric connector
-Drain fluids and disconnect all 3 hoses
-Remove centre console and both front carpets.
-Loosen both rear-heating ducts, unclip bottom half of blower cabinet.
-Disconnect the control-rods to the housing, and the side-ducts from the housing.
-Remove the centre duct screws and disconnect the internal rod.
-Remove the complete housing ..
-There you have the fan.

I believe this will get me close to where I need to be. Also the blower fan is weak. Works only sometimes. So I would like to replace this if possible. I would appreciate advice rather than be told "Don't Bother". Thanks for your time!

What do we have here?

So am i side tracked into and confused into thinking that the heater core, and fan on the core is accessed this way? But in reality there is another blower fan in the dash?

This refers to the pdf I am looking for if a member has it that would be great. "blower-install.pdf" is what I am looking for.

Maybe this should have been posted in the vintage forum to begin with. Maybe a mod can move it there? thanks
