Vacuum valves and the auto trans

On my 84 300D, 2 valves located behind the passenger headlight connect from the transmission circuit to the egr circuit. According to the sticker on my car they are:
14.20 electric vacuum control valve
33.11 electric switch over valve by pass
They don't hold vacuum so I want to eliminate them. Do they effect the transmission at all or are they just for emissions?

It doesn't really connect to the VCV as much as share a vacuum supply. Plug away and enjoy off-road driving and diagnosing

Thanks sixto. I got rid of that vac harness and simplified the connections around the oil filter. Much cleaner and no more golf tees
