Howe's: The Magic Anti-smoking Elixir? (Your Thoughts)

Just recently put Howe's Lubricator Diesel Treat and Anti-Gel in my '81 300D (w/84 engine/trans), and have been simply amazed at how much less the car smokes using it! I'm not seeing near the smoke I once did; I used to use Power Service's Diesel Fuel Supplement (white bottle) in the winter to avoid potential gelling, but think I'll make the permanent switch to Howe's. I didn't put that much in, either (a little over 4 oz. when filling a half-empty tank).

What has been your experience with using "special sauce" with your diesel fuel? I'm also wondering if it's possible that the local stations have switched to winter mix, which may smoke less, although in my past experience, I don't think that made much difference.
