Question Alternator Wires Removal

Today I started removing a defective alternator from my 2009 Mercedes Bluetec which is defective. I have everything ready to drop the alternator out the car. I am having a very hard time to disconnect the wires from alternator and still fighting to get to next step because the wires connectors are not disconnecting from alternator. I removed the air filter box of the left hand (passenger side) where the alternator is located. There is a very tight room but still possible to see the connectors. The small connector is accessible from under the car but the big connector is only accessible from the top of the car but, as I said, very little room and it is not coming out for noting.
I removed a lot parts out the way, the bolts that hold the alternator are visible but I am stuck on wires removal from alternator. I followed instructions from Haynes book where they say: remove the throttle body.
Please I need some help to get it disconnected in order to remove this alternator to get it checked on a test bench. If there are some tutorial available, please let me know.
Thanks
