85SD door lock key stuck

The attached pic is of the passenger door handle from an 85SD parts car. My intent is to rekey all of the locks on the 84SD to match another driving 85SD. I removed the door handle. There are 2 holes that used to hold roll pins. The roll pins have been drilled out but the key is stuck in the lock. The lock cylinder turns easily but the key won't come out and the lock cylinder won't come out.

The front hole is a blind hole and the other one goes all the way through. What's the trick to getting the lock apart or atleast the key out?

The key should come out anyway. If it's stuck in the lock, the pins in the tumbler are probably seized up. Try spraying some penetrating oil down in there and give it sometime to work it's magic then jiggle the key and see if you can get it to break loose.

Also, those roll pins are designed to be punched out, not drilled out. They can be reused many times as long as they still have some tension.

Soak it in something that will clean the tumblers. Use your imagination.
