Headlight wiper/washer on a separate switch?

Greetings all,

I spent several hours on my 350sd headlight wipers. New wiper motors, washer fluid motors, new relay and new hoses.! They still don't work. I was curious to know if anyone has wired a separate switch for the wiper/ washer function away from the headlight switch and wiper stalk? That way one can activate the headlight wiper/ washer function without the headlights and windshield wipers being on.
