This post is a little old, but I do have a question about this part!
I’m trying to figure out blown fuses in my AC system on a 1982 300D. I replaced the blower motor and the fuse continued to blow. I replaced the fuse with a higher quality ceramic / copper fuse and it is hanging in there so far (about a week of summer in central Florida). The problem is the fan only works in full power and the fuse continues to be hot after driving. After doing some research, the next most likely culprit I have found is the blower motor resistor. How do I test this thing to see if it’s bad? And if it’s bad, is there a replacement or upgrade for it? I have only found a couple for sale (very) used on ebay. I have not found the right part on this site yet.

Thanks for sharing the replacement guide, I already bookmarket it! I would be grateful for some recommendations on reliable brands providing with good resistors, I currently tend to these ones https://www.icrfq.com/category/37 .
Thanks in advance!

Funny we have the opposite, the fuse blows if I set the blower on high.
