No heat.. clogged beater core?

1987 300d. Am I leaning in the right direction the heater core is clogged? I have no heat even on defrost. The monovalve itself is hot and the hose going to it from the engine is slightly warm, but the hose on the back of the monovalve going to the cabin is completely cool. No warmth to touch.

If it is the beater core. What hoses do I use to flush it and How? Sorry aytocrect keeps calling it a beater core.

I would suspect the valve first, something else second, and the heater core last. Good hunting.

When did this start? Was it after adding coolant? I'm wondering if there is an air pocket in the core.

I'd start with the valve too. Make sure it isn't sticking or clogged up. Check to see if the Aux pump is working. If it is, it's likely the valve. If it isn't, it may be worth it to pull and make sure it isn't clogged with silt or rust. The 603 still moves enough coolant through the heater core that it will heat fine without the Aux pump functional.

No recent coolant. What's the best way to check the valve? Does it come apart easy. Also, I'd assume if I unplugged the connector, it should click to see if the valve is working right.

How I fixed my duovalve (W210), got my heat back and saved myself $250!
