Post Barrier Hose

Yes, I tried those barrier hoses, they're indestructible but the O.P. here wanted clear or translucent hose...

Notice in post 15 the replacement tubing was not clear. He also said it costs about $30. Hose from the Autoparts store is going to be considerably less and a lot easier to install.

My point exactly ~ he said he wanted clear but had to settle for black .

About 5 years ago, when I was having air bubble issues I replaced most push on hoses with new ones.

Plus bypassed the fuel heater and tiny pre-filter by using the 3/8 barricade type hose and an inline large 3/8 sediment filter of 125 micron. From that filter I used 3/8 barricade to the snipped off old clear hose that fed the fuel pump.

The snipped off clear hose was a good fit for the larger 3/8 hose that fed it. Tightened all new hose ends with good quality fuel hose clamps. No problem since.

As I recall the 3/8 hose that connected to the metal fuel line from the tank was pushed over a ridge in the metal line and the clamp put just behind that metal ridge. No problem with air bubbles or leaks since.

I realize this is an older thread, but I am wanting to replace all the engine bay fuel hoses in my 1975 300D (W115). I am curious what sizes to use for the various hoses: the feed to the IP lift pump seems to fit a 5/16" hose which I assumed would be 8mm, but reading here it might be 7mm? Pelican parts carries 8mm, 7.5mm and 7mm.

Are the clear plastic hoses between the fuel filter housing and IP the same size as the lines on the lift pump?

Also, for the injector return lines should I use 3.5m or 3.2mm?
