front end work almost completed
The front end job on my car is completed, with the exception that it really, REALLY needs to be professionally aligned. It's about 2 inches off center at the moment. I replaced the drag link, both tie rods, and the steering shock. All fairly smoothly with a couple minor hang-ups before i decided that i really did need to rent the special tool. Also, on the right tie rod i had to use an open end wrench with an allen head so that the joint would not just sit there and turn. The car's steering is much tighter and smoother now, and also it is harder to turn the wheel, i presume due to the new shock in there. BTW, what do you normally pay for an alignment to be done? this is my second car and i have never had it done before. Thanks in advance
Ryan

I really, really suggest you take it to the dealer for an alignment. They know how to do it right, as I hear not many places can align a benz right. It should be around $60.

Ryan,
The Tire Kingdom on 54th ave and 16th street has a guy that knows what he is doing. They will do a one time shot for around $50.00 or a three year deal for around $99. I have been happy with the alignment work done by this shop, and if I come back and tell them I don't like something they have always fixed it at no charge. |
