Question 1984 300SD REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM QUESTION??

I have a 1984 300sd and my right rear lower control arm trailing arm is Rusted through in places and cracked. My mechanic says it's not safe to drive which I understand completely. I need to know which years are interchangeable so I can buy one of these lower control arms in a junked car online. I just don't want to buy the wrong part.

If you don't want to pull one off yourself if you go to an online Junk/Salvege yard sites and plug in your Car's info they will tell you where eone is near you.

If you buy from a junk yard you might get some sort of warranty.

They likely have used ones on ebay.

I got one here in CA from a place in Sun Valley. Not all mercedes in California are from California but you have a better chance of getting one with less rust from hear in CA or another dry state.

@ vstech you mentioned all w123 years. So w123 and w126 control arms will fit? I was under the assumption that my 84 300sd is a w126 chassis. Is that right or wrong?

Yes, the w123 rear lower control arm will fit a w126. The only thing is needed is to swap the parking brake cable to the w126 version if the control arm came with it.

I have a good right control arm.

PM me if interested.

Yes, you have a w126, but the trailing arms on all w123’s and 1st gen w126’s (81-85) are the same. Same rotors, same bushings, same bearings... all the same.

The wagon has different calipers, but aside from that, they are the same.

Okay great. I have found one in a 1985 Mercedes 380SE. I assume that'll work as well?
